Cyclone Axe Changed
Hi Y'all.
I noticed today that Cyclone Axe has been changed since last night.
Previously it would go off as soon as you hit it, now you have to be actively targeting & in range of a mob for it to engage.
I don't know if I like this or not, having it go off immediatly was great for charging through mobs if your target had moved through the ranks.
Just found this on the updates page of www.guildwars.com
Skill Updates: - Aria of Zeal: Increased casting time to 2 seconds.
- Cyclone Axe: Modified so that it now requires an enemy target.
- Energizing Finale: Increased the Energy cost to 10 and reduced the amount of energy gained per shout or chant to 1.
- "Incoming!": Increased Energy cost to 10 and decreased duration to 1..5 seconds.
- Jagged Bones: Modified so that it may now be used on allied minions.
- Restful Breeze: Modified so that its behavior more accurately matches its description.
- "Stand Your Ground!": Increased energy cost to 10.
- "Watch Yourself!": Changed armor gain to 5..25, based on the Tactics attribute.

Could be good, I often wasted my cyclone by hitting the wrong skill key. Still, there were also some good uses for it, since you could kill the target and add a cyclone without having to search for the next target.
I think Watch yourself is a more important hit. Guess ANet decided it was too good at keeping echoes up...

Ditto on that. I was doing the Turai's Procession quest last night and put myself in a big crowd of Margonites. My targetted Cleric runs off and I instinctively hit Cyclone Axe just because I'm a perfect position to set off a storm of damage numbers on my screen.
Instead I run out of the crowd and I literally smack myself on the forehead. Gah. I'll get used to it eventually.
As for Watch Yourself, the changes have made me dust off the Ascalon hornhead I had sitting in storage. I feel for the other classes that were using */W though.

I don't like the change. I've found that when I need it most, Triple Chop will not do any damage because my target moves at the last second, and it somehow slips off, like an orb. I don't need Cyclone doing the same thing.

SYG is Paragon, not Warrior.
I don't mind the change. I often stupidly accidentally press Cyclone Axe while nobody's nearby.

I don't mind the change, but my question is why was this change necessary? After however many months of GW Cyclone Axe is suddenly changed? Big Question mark.

yeap that change will just require more skill to use and probably miss more but meh what yah gonna do.
ON another note watch yourself was changed thats NICE 25 armour at 12 tactics looks awsome

It is +21 armor at 12 tactics. 25 at 15.

it killed me when i was farming...
i kept hitting cyclone and bonettis but then cyclone did nothing after a while i was like WTF (had the sound off couldnt hear the beep) by the time i realized i was down to 50 or so health...
but ill get used to it i guess...

I cant see an idea of changing cyclone axe.. But i don't care about it anyway.. Now it just have the exact funktion as triple chop..
But wasnt there a cast time on 1, both on cyclone axe and triple chop? i just checked and it seems there is no cast time on anyone of them now:S

Couple those with Mark of Pain and you'll land a very hefty amount of AoE damage rivaling the likes of many Elementalists, until the enemy scatters of course...

Not sure bout Triple Chop, but Cyclone has always been an instant cast spell.
